A small family producer in the hills of Crete

Tending vines, shaping seasons — at our scale.

Our Story

Tending vines, generation after generation

Golden Delies began in the village of Profitis Ilias, where our family has tended vines for generations. What started as a way to preserve the summer harvest for our own table grew, slowly, into a small business built on the same principles that guided it from the start: do the work properly, respect the land, and let the product speak for itself.

“We are not a large operation. That’s a choice.”

Human Scale

Working at a size we can stand behind

Working at a human scale means we know every vineyard plot, we harvest when the fruit is ready rather than when the calendar says so, and we can keep a close eye on every batch that leaves our hands. It also means we care — personally — about what ends up in your kitchen.

What We Make

Three products, from one place

Our focus is simple: naturally sun-dried raisins, carefully preserved vine leaves, and seasonal fresh grapes. All three come from the same vineyards around Profitis Ilias, and all three reflect the character of this particular place — its soil, its summer heat, its long hours of Cretan light.

How We Work

The seasons set the pace

Tradition where it works

Vine leaves are picked young in spring, when they’re tender enough to roll around a filling. Grapes are harvested in late summer, laid out to dry in the open air, then cleaned and sorted by hand. No shortcuts, no forcing, no trying to squeeze more out of the land than it’s willing to give.

Modern tools where they help

Where modern tools help — cool storage, proper hygiene, careful packaging — we use them. Where tradition works better, we stay with tradition. The goal is always the same: get the product from the vine to your table without losing its character.

Why It Matters

Humble products, properly made

Raisins and vine leaves have been part of the Cretan pantry for centuries. When they’re done well, they don’t need much explanation — a good raisin tastes clearly of grape and sunshine, a good vine leaf carries the fresh, grassy note of the vineyard where it was picked.

Our job is to make sure that integrity makes it from the vine to the jar, to the bag, and to you.
